Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo, also known as Leni Robredo, is a Filipino politician and a congresswoman representing the 3rd district of Camarines Sur. She is a lawyer and the widow of former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo. ==Early life== Born Maria Leonor Santo Tomas Gerona〔(That first night, I knew he was gone—Robredo’s wife ) Inquirer.net (retrieved 2014-06-13)〕 on April 23, 1965 in Naga, Camarines Sur, Philippines. Prior in joining the politics, she was a lawyer-coordinator worked at Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Pang Legal (Saligan), a NGO for the members of the marginalized sector.
